Brief Description

Blackbuck (Velavadar) National Park is a unique one with exclusive grassland habitat, shrublands, saline plains, and mudflats. Located between two rivers, Parvalia and Alang, the park was established in the year 1976 for the conservation of Blackbucks.

The park attracts many species of birds, mammals, flowering plants, and reptiles, and it is a heaven for Demoiselle Cranes, Common Cranes, and a variety of raptors including Spotted Eagles and Steppe Eagles.

Arrival & Village Tour

Morning & Evening Safari

 

Wake-up at 6:00 AM, have tea/coffee and head for a morning safari. Come back, have breakfast followed by lunch and relax. Gear up for another safari at 4:00 PM. Come back have dinner and relax.

Wake-up, have breakfast and check-out post breakfast.

Things to keep in mind when you visit here

  • Although the park is open throughout the year, the best time to visit here is between October to March.
  • You can take your own vehicle in the national park but not without a guide.
  • The temperature in winter usually drops down to 5 degrees and in summer rises to around 48 degrees. So we recommend that you pack according to the season you are traveling.

SAFARI Details/ Instructions

  • ID Proof of each person who has opted for a safari is mandatory for entering any national park/ wildlife sanctuary in India.
  • A maximum of 6 adults and 1 child (up to the age of 10 years) will be allowed in a gypsy apart from the guide and driver.
  • The safari charges for Indian and foreign nationals are different at all major wildlife destinations
  • The duration of jungle safari is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to 3 hours.
  • Wear clothes that blend with the forest landscape and avoid wearing fragrances.
  • No one can guarantee that you will spot a wild animal during safari, so don't fall for it and pay more.
  • Do not get down from your vehicle and strictly obey the law and rules of the jungle.
  • Maintain silence throughout your safari for best chances of spotting wildlife.
