Bandhavgarh National Park, known as the land of tigers, is one of the most famous wildlife destinations in India. The park not only has the highest density of tigers, but it is also a place of mythological and legendary significance.

It is believed that Lord Rama gifted the fort to his younger brother Lakshmana to keep an eye on ‘Lanka’ and hence the name Bandhavgarh, which means brothers fort. Bandhavgarh dates back to 2000 years ago, and there are several man-made caves with inscriptions and rock paintings within the forest area. The then Maharaja of Rewa captured the first white tiger in 1951, which was stuffed and put on display in the palace of the Maharaja. The foliage found in Bandhavgarh is mostly of dry deciduous type but has rich biodiversity and gives ample opportunities to witness wildlife in India at its best.

Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the most visited national parks in Madhya Pradesh, India, and since it has a high tiger population, the chances of sightings are also higher over here.
