The Van Vihar National Park is the lungs of the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. Though Van Vihar is declared a national park, it is developed and maintained as a modern zoological park, keeping the animals in their natural habitat.

Illegal activities around this beautiful and serene land pushed the government to protect this area, and thus it was declared as a national park in 1979. Located beside the famous Upper Lake, one of the two lakes of Bhoj Wetland, the park is a combination of rich wetland, plateau, meadows, and small water bodies housing a world of amazing creatures.

Van Vihar National Park is a gateway to greenery for the locals, and it is worth paying a visit if you are visiting Bhopal.
