The Mukundara Hills National Park & Tiger Reserve is a conglomeration of three wildlife sanctuaries, namely, the Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary, the Jaswant Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary.
The park is considered a natural extension of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. It is located between two parallel mountains, namely, Gargola and Mukundara, forming a valley surrounded by four rivers, Chambal, Kali, Ahu, and Ramzan. It used to be a reserved hunting ground for the Maharajas of Kota and was often used by the Rajputs, Marathas, and British as an asylum during wars.
However, one needs to take written permission from the forest department to visit this reserve.Major Wildlife
