Madhav National Park, earlier known as Shivpuri National Park, is situated in Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the oldest national parks in India and was once a hunting ground of the Maharajas of Gwalior.

A beautiful castle, along with the Sakhya and Madhav Sagar lakes, makes this park one of the most picturesque wildlife destinations in Central India. Since it houses two major water bodies, the park is also a nesting ground for many birds as well as crocodiles. The vegetation here involves mixed and dry deciduous forests and large grasslands, making it a favorable spot to sight animals easily. Apart from a jungle safari, one can even take a boat ride in the lake and have a great birding experience.

The Madhav National Park is not only visited to witness its rich wildlife, but also to enjoy the beauty of amazing man-made monuments with quite a scenic backdrop.
